«We are moving towards the implementation of an intervention that is part of a broader planning aimed at making the infrastructures of our island safer . Studies and a more in-depth knowledge of our territory lead us today to a greater awareness of the risks compared to the past and this, in perspective, allows us to be more incisive in terms of prevention".

So the regional councilor for public works, Pierluigi Saiu , during the presentation, today in Nuoro, of the executive project of the works to improve the static and hydraulic functionality of the Oloè bridge , along the Sp 46, awarded on 19 December last.

"The intervention financed entirely by the Region - specifies the commissioner - has a total value of around five million euros and provides for the insertion of a new span of 40 meters in length which will replace a road embankment allowing for a significant improvement in the flow of Cedrino and therefore the hydraulic functionality of the work ».

The intervention, in other words, is aimed at «removing what today can be configured as an obstacle to the passage of water in critical situations. Furthermore, the construction of an alternative road network is envisaged, both on the bridge with the construction of a link road which will avoid the closure of the crossing for the entire duration of the intervention, estimated at one hundred and sixty days, and on the collateral rural network, to the advantage of the many farms in the area".

During the meeting, councilor Saiu recalled Roberto Frongia , former member of Giunta Solinas and councilor for public works who died in 2020, and his work and commitment to the Oloè bridge.

«Still a sign of attention for an area that has not forgotten the dramatic events of the 2013 flood and the harsh repercussions resulting from the collapse of the Oloè bridge. For this intervention we are experimenting with a work model that has proved to be efficient so far, considerably containing times. Thanks to the synergy between the Region, Works and Infrastructures of Sardinia, the Province of Nuoro and the Municipalities of Dorgali and Oliena, we will quickly carry out an important intervention on a strategic work for the territory», concludes the commissioner.
