The checks, the police announced, «were also carried out to comply with the rules for the eradication of swine fever, together with the Veterinary Service of the ASL of Cagliari. The observance of the hunting companies to the precept of collecting tissues from the killed animals and transferring them to the Zooprophylactic Institute was verified. Compliance is important to control the possible spread of swine fever, of which wild boar is the vector of spread. The checks all gave negative results. The set of activities coordinated by the Cagliari Territorial Service of the Forestry Corps is aimed at guaranteeing the protection of biodiversity, compliance with the rules on hunting and support of the pig production chain".
