To address the crisis in the plastics supply chain that has forced some municipalities in Gallura to suspend home collection, the mayor, Settimo Nizzi , has found a solution to prevent the collapse of collection in Olbia.

With an ordinance signed this morning, Nizzi authorizes the company that manages the urban waste service to transfer the pressed plastic to the Spiritu Santu platform, designated by the Province as a temporary storage area.

The measure was adopted by the mayor to free up space for the pressing and unloading of currently saturated plastic materials . "The plastic recycling crisis is causing difficulties for many municipalities. Olbia has chosen to intervene immediately, decisively and responsibly," the mayor stated. "With this ordinance," he explained, "we are allowing De Vizia to transfer the pressed plastic to the Cipnes platform, freeing up the facilities and allowing regular collection."

Because, Nizzi concluded, "the health of citizens, environmental protection, and the city's decorum are absolute priorities: we must guarantee efficient services to our residents and the many tourists who still experience Olbia every day, and therefore we will continue to monitor the situation, working with all the agencies involved to ensure continuity, order, and respect for the environment."
