Red rose petals in the sea to the tune of "Le tasche piena di sassi," the famous song by Lorenzo Jovanotti, a powerful and deeply felt image in memory of Fabrizio Calaresu, the 17-year-old from Alghero, a student at the Porto Torres Nautical Institute, who was killed in a car accident on July 22nd . A tribute to that young life cut short too quickly.
The commemoration ceremony was held Wednesday morning in the waters off Scoglio Lungo beach, an initiative promoted by the students of the fifth-year A Nautical Captains class with the participation of the Smat Professional classes of the Mario Paglietti Higher Education Institute, organizers of the commemoration day. The students boarded canoes armed with spears and, once out to sea, threw flowers into the sea before Fabrizio's parents, Lorenza and Tino Calaresu , who were on the beach to witness a particularly moving moment, a tribute to a young man remembered by the school as "a student who always distinguished himself through achievement, education, and respect."
And his many friends were there on the beach, too, to pay their respects once again to the young man who lost his life on his way to work, a gentle giant who dreamed of donning the Carabiniere uniform in the future. He crashed his motorcycle into a pole after a car cut him off on Provincial Road 44, not far from Fertilia Airport. The initiative received the blessing of school principal Daniele Taras and the collaboration of teachers Pier Paolo Peddio, Andrea Fiori, Caterina Sassu, Elisabetta Ruggiu, and Cristina Bazzoni, all of whom attended the ceremony.
