The mayor of Usini, Antonio Brundu, sent a letter to the ASL of Sassari and the Region on the problem of medical assistance in the town of Coros.

The mayor's decision came after some residents reported some serious critical issues.

«We have received news», writes Brundu in the letter, «that Dr. Pinna is now retired and the numerous patients from Usina should converge with the two general practitioners currently operating in the town, Dr. Piero Franco Meloni and Dr. Giuseppe Gaddia who however , from what appears, should have reached the maximum number of patients allowed. From citizens' reports, it also seems that it is impossible, for the same reasons, to be taken care of by other doctors located in the nearest towns".

For this reason, adds Brundu, "it should be noted that the concept of territorial medicine, i.e. exploiting availability outside the municipal territory, is difficult to apply for many patients, often elderly and without their own means of travel".

The mayor, who is also available for a meeting, hopes for a response "in order to stem the phenomenon which is creating quite a few inconveniences for numerous users".
