The situation of Antonino Sanna, the 72-year-old arrested last Thursday in Carbonia on charges of having made a dozen bombs , one of which exploded behind the buildings on Via 18 Dicembre, seriously injuring a woman, has worsened significantly . The man must now also answer for massacre, in addition to serious injuries.

The pensioner, assisted by the lawyer Stefano Piras, had the right yesterday to be subjected to preliminary interrogation in the prison of Uta, but also in consideration of the seriousness of the charges against him, he availed himself of the right to remain silent .

While waiting for a new possible interrogation to be scheduled, Sanna remains in prison because a temporary stay behind bars is considered compatible despite his age .

The case was also confirmed because three modified pistols, a dozen explosive devices and material needed to make bombs and revolver barrels were found between his apartment and the garage he used.

Sanna is therefore also accused of illegal possession and manufacturing of weapons and explosives . He is also accused of recidivism: he had already faced similar charges in the past.

The injured woman, 65-year-old Giuditta Tanchis , after an initial operation at Sirai in Carbonia, was transferred to the hospital in Cagliari on Saturday . Her life is not in danger, but her recovery is expected to be slow and complicated.
