Last August 29, the Council of State in the jurisdictional seat (Section Seven) rejected the precautionary request presented by the Consortium of Owners of Punta Sardegna and Porto Rafael concerning the celebration of marriages and civil unions on the beach of the small square of Porto Rafael in Palau.

«Having assessed the compliance of the planned use of the places with the interpretative criteria of the law established by this Council of State and having considered the failure to allege, a fortiori with the end of the summer season, serious and irreparable damage to the Consortium, which in any case remains extraneous to the problems inherent in the public use of the area".

The sentence was pronounced following that of the Regional Administrative Court of Sardinia (Second Section) n. 179/2023. The municipal administration had opposed these judicial initiatives in the two offices. In Palau therefore, comments the commissioner Fabrizio Asole, "the couples who wish to do so will be able to get married on the beaches surveyed and authorized by the state property and selected by the Administration during the drafting phase of the Pul". Coastal Utilization Plan that had been approved in the last administrative term, which always saw Franco Manna as mayor.
