The numbers speak for themselves: this has been "a very positive season", says Luisa Pasella , delegate for tourism, commerce, marketing, entertainment, communication, of the Municipality of Palau , "with an increase in both Italian and foreign tourists but above all the emergence of new markets is interesting , such as the Polish one, and the American one, a nationality that manages to bring greater profitability to the territory".

Numbers, analyses and considerations were illustrated in the council chamber on 30 October by the same delegate and councillor Fabrizio Aisoni. The data were those provided by the Wind Platform, with which the Municipality has an agreement. In the period from 1 April to 12 October, total tourist flows were 652,177; 1% more in April 2024 compared to April 2023; 9% more in May, 6% more in the months of July and August (367,226 against 346,158 in 2023) and 3% more in the months of September-October. Of these, 30% were foreigners (+3.5%); and based on the data collected by the Tourism Office, there was an increase of over 9% of Italians while the tourists from abroad were more numerous than Germans and French. As for the Tourist Tax related to overnight stays, these increased by 12% for a total amount of 2,051,299 euros. But there is more: «the data says that even the “low season” is a “good season” – states Luisa Pasella – and therefore it is worth keeping the activities open because these data tell us that there was an increase also in April and October, in the so-called “shoulder months”».
