The magistrate Giacomo Pala died at his home in Palau at the age of 93. of justice, between 1999 and 2000.

An important role that Pala exercised in the La Maddalena office, having jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters as well as important administrative, voluntary and other jurisdictions.

Palaese, he attended the Middle Schools in La Maddalena, the Liceo Classico in Tempio and then obtained a law degree at the University of Sassari, subsequently entering the judiciary.

The Rotary Club La Maddalena-Costa Smeralda awarded him in 2009, at the Library of the MM Officers' Club of La Maddalena, the "Giuseppe Garibaldi Award 2009" with the following motivation: «A magistrate endowed with an extraordinary charge of humanity, an authentic expression of he identity of the people of Gallura has administered justice in the Archipelago for thirty years, distinguishing himself for his total dedication, high professionalism and intellectual clarity. Contemplate with wisdom, moderation and human understanding. He has contributed to promoting the culture of legality, making an irreplaceable contribution to the process of building a just society in which the person is considered the end and not the means of common action".

The funeral will take place tomorrow, Saturday 27 May, at 11:00, in the church of the Redeemer, in Palau.
