In the courtyard of the San Simplicio primary school in Olbia, the emotion of parents, close relatives, classmates and teachers marked the brief ceremony in memory of Gioele Putzu, the 9-year-old boy who tragically passed away in Ozieri on 15 September.
On the national day dedicated to trees, the school he attended joyfully wanted to remember him by planting a holm oak ; after the thoughts read aloud by the little students and the special dedications of his 5th A class, the little tree was planted and surrounded by a ring-a-ring dance.
Heartbreaking but at the same time full of affection the embrace of Gioele's classmates, who at the end, ran to meet his parents Ivan and Antonella Casula, all the time held in silence and tears. The whole school participated in the memory and in the past months dozens of cyclamens have been planted and now adorn the courtyard: with the plants with beautiful colored flowers a heart has been drawn, in the center the name Gioele.
"When I see your empty desk I feel so sad," wrote a classmate, "because I would never have imagined such a bad thing." Ivan and Antonella thanked everyone who keeps his memory alive. "Gioele was a lover of everything that lived on this earth," said his father, "and he had a good word for everyone."
The school principal, Anna Piga, and the institutions with the deputy mayor Sabrina Serra and the councilor Mariantonietta Cossu were present in the morning.
