Ortacesus hosted the second stage of the Trexenta Experience, the autumn event which offers an evocative journey through the archaeological beauties, ancient crafts, music, cuisine, religious festivals and the secrets of a land waiting to be discovered. Following will be the appointments of Pimentel, Guamaggiore and Siurgus Donigala.

What took place in Ortacesus was a day full of curiosity and enthusiasm, with the children as protagonists who listened attentively to the engaging descriptions of the archaeologist Ottaviana Soddu during the visit to the Byzantine source of Mitza de s'Orrù and of the remains of the country church of San Bartolomeo. The experts from the local cooperative Su Corongiu instead told a large audience of passionate spectators - of all ages - the fascinating story of the Mitza de Siddi necropolis, which still holds many mysteries. Under the careful guidance of the Historical Archers of Sanluri, adults and children tried their hand at traditional archery, a discipline that dates back to prehistory. The tasting of local products was held in the Wheat Museum: the fragrant bread baked in the oven, the fresh sausage, the pecorino, and the wine that reflects the soul of a territory with a thousand facets through the words of the oenologist Onofrio Graviano. The evening ended with traditional dances accompanied by Giovanni Tronci's launeddas.

The objective of the three-year Trexenta Experience program is to promote the archaeological sites of the territories which become places of narration and knowledge of ancient crafts and traditions. «Trexenta is a land rich in archaeological charm that is attracting visitors from all over the world», said the mayor of Ortacesus Maria Carmela Lecca.
