The legal battle ended with a 10-month sentence for the mother and the acquittal of the father of the disputed child.

The sentence closes a story that began in 2017 when the tensions in the separating couple became heavier.

The mother, originally from Marmilla, reported her husband for alleged mistreatment; the man in turn reported his ex-partner who in the meantime had returned to Sardinia for child abduction.

A year later the Court of Viterbo ordered the little girl to return to live in the Lazio town to guarantee the right to double parenthood but the mother opposed it. When the social services and the police showed up at the house to collect the little girl, who was then 4 years old, it was a dramatic day: after a long mediation the little girl was entrusted to the social workers who took her to her father in Lazio, where she still lives (her mother he can see her in protected meetings but hasn't had the chance for a year).

In the meantime, the trial continued and late this morning judge Paola Bussu pronounced the sentence: the mother, defended by the lawyer Basilio Brodu, was sentenced to 10 months for not having complied with the judge's orders (only in some of the periods ended in the dispute) and was acquitted of the charge of child abduction.

The father, assisted by lawyers Mario Gusi and Valerio Mazzatosta, was acquitted because the fact does not exist.

Prosecutor Daniela Caddeo had asked for a sentence of one year and four months for the woman and a 400 euro fine for her ex-husband.

The lawyers of both parents had requested acquittal for their clients.
