Work begins tomorrow in Oristano, between 8am and 2pm , to connect the second section of the new Abbanoa pipeline just built in via Cavour .

The first section was connected at the end of April.

During operations , temporary drops in pressure may occur in the stretch of via Diaz between via Tharros and throughout via XX Settembre . The interruption of the service is foreseen only for the time strictly necessary for the execution of the network connections .

Abbanoa is investing over one million euros for the new interventions to redevelop the water networks in the city of Oristano financed through the European Fund for Development and Cohesion "FSC": it is part of the package of interventions, approved by the Board of Directors led by president Franco Piga, destined for various centers on the island for the efficiency of water networks.

In recent years Oristano has already been involved in numerous construction sites which involved the replacement of sections of the network subject to frequent breakages and the decommissioning of pipelines made of various materials with modern ductile iron pipes: a material that guarantees the best seal. The ongoing interventions concern further works aimed at increasing the hydraulic, energy and management efficiency of the water distribution networks.

There are two contracts that concern the town center and the hamlets. The contract for the works currently underway (investment of 330 thousand euros) concerns via Cavour, Vandalino Casu, Torbeno Falliti and Viale della Libertà . A further lot (investment of 639 thousand euros) involves the construction of new water networks in the streets of Artigiani, Sebastiano Mele, Curreli, dei Muratori, dei Fabbri, Campanelli and Salvo D'Acquisto .

In addition to the construction of the new pipelines, the connections to the users served will also be completely redone and new network control equipment will be installed.
