The tasty delicacies of Nostos land at Slow Food Terra Madre in Turin. Honey, jams, marmalades and vegetable creams, agro-food excellences rigorously produced in the Oristano area, will be present in the Savoy capital to titillate the palates of the demanding stakeholders of the Salone del Gusto, scheduled at Parco Dora from Thursday 26 to Monday 30 September .
The food products are made and packaged by Francesca Bina and Emanuele Pinna, a young couple from Oristano who celebrated their third year of activity in the laboratory on Via Beato Angelico in Oristano. They say they are enthusiastic about this latest participation in the world food market, where they will compete with 600 agri-food exhibitors from all over the world: "Thanks to food we can rediscover ourselves as part of nature", fully embracing the motto of the world food community founded by Carlo Petrini.
Nostos, already a Slow Food member, shares its commitment and perspectives for respecting nature and sustainable production, is against food waste and in favor of respecting agricultural work and direct contact with local fruit and vegetable producers.
The young production reality of Oristano has attracted attention beyond the old continent: on Thursday 3 October , a crew from Japanese TV, NHK Educational, will visit the laboratory in via Beato Angelico to film the stages of jam production, fruit harvesting and the processing of prickly pear jams, a company specialty that has reached its third year of production. NHK educational, the second channel of the Japanese state TV network, is preparing a program that will popularize Italian history, culture and agri-food. Emanuele and a farmer friend of his will talk about Sardinian nature and agriculture, proposing pairings of jams with local cheeses and tastings of chutney (lightly spiced vegetable creams) with roast chicken.
