Her tireless commitment had made her a point of reference for the community and for those who found it difficult to access health services. Since last summer, however, Gisella Masala had been fighting a personal battle against the disease. The spokesperson for the Committee for the Right to Health of the province of Oristano passed away a few days before the milestone of 60 years : her heart stopped beating at the hospice in Nuoro, where she was hospitalized.

"We are deeply saddened and shocked by the news of the passing of Dr. Gisella Masala, a doctor with great professionalism and humanity, but also a person with a big heart, always committed to helping the weakest and those who suffer. And still the exponent and soul of an association, which has confronted our company in a correct and transparent manner, to try to resolve, together, the health emergencies present throughout the territory" - the words of the general director of ASL 5, Angelo Maria Serusi.

"Not even during her last difficult treatment path did she want to fail in her commitments as founder of the Health Committee of the province of Oristano - continues Serusi recalling that Gisella Masala, last January 4, had cut the ribbon of the new garden of the Hospice. The Order of Surgeons and Dentists of the Province also joins in condolences for the passing of the dentist. "Her dedication, her professionalism and her sense of responsibility have left a deep mark on the medical community and in civil society, making her a figure respected and loved by colleagues and citizens".
