After weeks of uncertainty and internal tensions within the majority, the political crisis in the Municipality of Oristano finally finds a way out.
Mayor Massimiliano Sanna has signed the decree appointing Gigi Mureddu as the new councilor for Culture, Tourism, Public Education, Budget, Programming, Personnel and Participatory Organizations. The administration is trying to reunite after the internal conflict that paralyzed political activity for over two months, leaving vacant the seat that belonged to Luca Faedda, removed in March in a climate of strong tensions with the local leaders of Forza Italia .
Mureddu, born in 1973, from Oristano, is a well-known face in city politics: an accountant, an employee of the 50&Più association of Confcommercio, he was a city councilor from 2017 until October 2024.
In this council he was the group leader of Forza Italia and president of the Budget, Programming, Personnel and Urban Police Commission. With his appointment, the mayor aims to strengthen the dialogue with the area of dissident councilors of Forza Italia, long at odds with the official line of the party and for weeks decisive for the stability of the numbers in the chamber.
Sanna wanted to thank Luca Faedda for the work done and wish him well in his new role in Mureddu.
