Sword in hand, feint obviously, eyes focused on the star and then off quickly to hit the target. There are those who succeed and rejoice, but also those who collapse in tears due to the disappointment of not having made it. After all, they are children.

This afternoon, many people took part in the Sartill'e Canna, riding the steeds handmade by the association for the protection and promotion of cane horses which prepares more than a thousand foals every year.

For hours the children in the Su Brugu neighborhood imitated their idols, the real knights, those who will parade in via Duomo on Sunday and next Tuesday on the occasion of the Sartiglia. In fact, everything happens as in the carousel, in miniature and with carnival costumes: puffin, harlequin, pierrot and many others.

The first act was the dressing: two very small massaieddas wearing the traditional costume of Oristano transformed nine-year-old Mattia Onida into mini componidoreddu. And then off to the star race riding the reeds, accompanied by the roll of the mini drummers and mini trumpeters of the Oristano Pro Loco led by the masters Marco Turnu. A great celebration that has been going on for more than thirty years, and which officially inaugurates the Carnival in Oristano.
