He had had a few too many drinks. And after a while the atmosphere inside a bar in Silì became rather heated. The man, a 53-year-old with several criminal records and final convictions, was asked by the owner of the place on Sunday evening to tone it down and not bother the other customers.

But Maurilio Solinas continued with his very over the top behavior and in the end the bartender asked for the intervention of the police. A patrol of the flying squad arrived on the scene immediately and tried to calm the 53-year-old who in response also attacked the officers. At that point Solinas was arrested for resisting arrest.

Today, the man assisted by his lawyer Giovanni Trimarchi appeared before judge Cristiana Argiolas who, at the request of the prosecutor Sara Ghiani, confirmed the arrest for the charges of resistance and contempt. The defense lawyer asked for a deadline for the defense, the trial was postponed to January 13 but Solinas was ordered to remain at home at night.

The 53-year-old said he regretted his actions and decided to detox from alcohol at the Serd.
