A fourteen-year-old boy who suffered worrying injuries this afternoon after a dive at Marina di Torregrande is hospitalized in serious conditions at Brotzu .

The boy, a resident of a town in the Oristano area, jumped into a spot where the seabed was shallower than expected. The impact was very violent and there could be serious repercussions on his spine. The fourteen-year-old got out of the water on his own, then lost consciousness.

The request for help was immediate. Assisted by 118 personnel, he was initially taken to San Martino in Oristano. From there, after stabilization, he was transferred to Brotzu in Cagliari aboard the Areus rescue helicopter.
