Oristano, disabled person trapped on sidewalk: saved by police
Gianluca Contini, 43, could no longer move from via Diaz due to the obstacles in his pathHe is used to obstacles but the mishap of two days ago went beyond all imagination. Gianluca Contini, 43 years old, from Oristano, found himself trapped on a sidewalk in via Diaz and had to call for help to get down from that trap-platform.
He had climbed onto the sidewalk in the parallel street, after walking several meters, at the height of the kindergarten he found himself with a first obstacle. "The tiles completely lifted by the protruding roots," he recalls, "but I managed to overcome them." All around the curb of the sidewalk damaged by the presence of large roots and small branches knocked down by the wind. The only slide present in that stretch has a prohibitive difference in height.
"The sidewalk is really high, it's unthinkable to be able to get off," says the 43-year-old who is battling a very rare form of muscular dystrophy. So he asked for police intervention. "The officers were very kind, they lifted me up and helped me continue my journey. I don't know how I would have managed without their intervention."
