Fifty years of history, including milestones, successes, and challenges faced. Today, Coldiretti Oristano celebrated half a century of activity with a day that combined memory, analysis, and a vision for the future. The Federation's anniversary began this morning with an intimate moment.
Following this, in the hall of the Hotel Mistral 2, a conference brought together leaders from the agricultural and institutional worlds. President Paolo Corrias retraced the social, economic, and human value of this half-century-long history. "This Federation has always given a voice to Oristano businesses, and today more than ever it reaffirms its mission: to stand alongside every sector, from agriculture to livestock farming to fishing, without distinction."
Corrias then outlined future commitments: "Our journey continues at regional, national, and international levels. The Oristano area must be a leader in decisions that affect its productive future. We will continue to bring business concerns to bear where the fate of our sectors is decided, with the same determination that has guided us since 1974."
Furthermore, according to Director Emanuele Spanò, "our region boasts one of the most significant agricultural supply chains in Sardinia, with steady growth in recent years, both in terms of member companies and overall production value. The data shows a vibrant sector that is reorganizing and seriously addressing structural and climate change."
The work also revealed the numbers for Coldiretti Oristano, which represents seven local offices and 39 branches covering the entire region. "Coldiretti's role is to support this development with services, protection, and planning. Our goal is to transform critical issues into growth drivers, especially in logistics, transportation, and market access."
Regional Director Luca Saba participated, also bringing greetings from President Battista Cualbu, and addressed regional and national issues: "Coldiretti has a culture of proposing, encouraging, and also pressuring institutions to implement the right policies in its DNA, but words are no longer enough; concrete actions are needed. The Sardinia Region has changed an Agriculture Councilor every two years: an unsustainable pace for a sector so crucial to the regional economic system. The administrative system fails to meet the needs of businesses, and even when politicians intervene, too often the measures fail to have an appropriate impact on the local community, starting with payments. Real reforms start at the grassroots: personnel, institutions, and management training. We have achieved significant results thanks to the commitment of our members, both young and long-time, but the world is fast-paced, and food and water are global issues. Sardinia has the resources to be a leader, but clear choices are needed. We have already wasted twenty years: without a qualitative leap, we will continue to merely plug the gap, while we want to build the future with innovation, services, and techniques that we are ready to deploy."
