Oristano is celebrating a new centenary: Giovanni Battista Manis. Surrounded by the love of his wife, children, and grandchildren, he celebrated his first century of life on Saturday. Councilor Antonio Franceschi brought greetings from the city community, presenting him with a commemorative plaque on behalf of the municipal administration.
Born in Oristano on February 28, 1926, Mr. Nino experienced life's challenges from a young age. Orphaned at an early age, he and his brothers rolled up their sleeves and worked with determination to ensure stability and peace of mind for their family. He forged his career path in the construction industry, founding the company that has operated a quarry in Simaxis, a landmark in the area, for sixty years. This unwavering commitment, carried out with dedication and passion, is a testament to his family's success.
He has always lived in Oristano and has been married to Angela Pani, his lifelong companion, since 1965. They have four children: Francesco, Annapaola, Giorgio, and Danilo. Today, the company is in the hands of the new generation, but Mr. Nino continues to follow it closely: every day, he gets in his car and drives to the quarry, a sign of ageless energy and dedication to his work.
