In Oristano, too, the Carabinieri of the provincial command celebrated their patron saint, Virgo Fidelis, and commemorated the 84th anniversary of the battle at the Culqualber stronghold.
The celebration was attended by the city authorities, both civil and military, a large representation of serving Carabinieri, and the branches of the National Carabinieri Association.
Today the Carabinieri also celebrated Orphans' Day, in support of all those children who have lost a Carabiniere parent.

Also present at the ceremony were the mother and sister of Umberto Erriu, the policeman from Oristano killed in 1988 by the Uno Bianca gang, and the family of corporal Renzo Lampis, killed thirty-one years ago while he was searching for a fugitive.
