She was found in the sun, tied with a meter-long rope in a lay-by on the Silì ring road. The poor dog was noticed by some passersby who raised the alarm. Liù, as the Sharpei dog was nicknamed, was immediately rescued and entrusted to the care of veterinarians at the Duemari clinic in Oristano.
Initial investigations revealed that the dog is completely blind in one eye, and the other is also quite damaged due to old injuries. Her paws are swollen, presumably from an infection caused by the numerous foxtails that have lodged in her paws.
A critical situation, and veterinarians will have a clearer picture in the next few hours. Meanwhile, a thousand questions arise: how could she have ended up there, and above all, who could have left her in the sun and in those conditions. "What else should we look at?" reads the Duemari clinic's Facebook page. "Now even purebred dogs." Indeed, in the various cases of abandonment, most of the animals are strays or, at least, non-specific breeds like the Sharpei.
