Ten valuable archaeological finds were seized in Oristano in a joint operation by the Guardia di Finanza and the police. They include a small Nuragic bronze statuette and nine prehistoric obsidian artifacts.
The investigation began with a check at a man's home to verify his legal possession of weapons and his gun collection license.
During the investigation, however, over 40 artifacts of archaeological interest were found, prompting further investigations, which highlighted a discrepancy between the finds actually reported to the Superintendency and those present in the house.
Thus, 10 finds, a small Nuragic bronze statue and 9 obsidian artefacts dating back to the 4th-3rd millennium BC, were seized and entrusted to experts from the Superintendency, who intervened in the house during the operation and established their archaeological interest.
The man was reported to the Prosecutor's Office for receiving stolen cultural property.
