Oristano, a plaque commemorates Pacifico Tratzi: the master of the Sartiglia musicians.

Everything is ready to remember the historic Sartiglia musician Pacifico Tratzi, one year after his passing. Next Tuesday, July 22nd, at 7:30 pm at the former washhouse, during a ceremony organized by the Pro Loco Oristano Drummers and Trumpeters group, a plaque will be unveiled. But that's not all. It will also be the occasion to celebrate the official naming of the "Mini Drummers and Trumpeters of the Pro Loco" group.

The name "Pacifico Tratzi" Sartiglia Musicians' School was added to the historic name of the youth group, starting from the last summer Sartigliedda, on August 11, 2024. "This is a small gesture of gratitude to a great man, who, with his drum, was the foundation of the sound of the Pro Loco Oristano drummers and trumpeters and a teacher for us all," reads a statement from the association.

Pacifico joined the Pro Loco musicians in 1960. He is credited with founding the Pro Loco Oristano Mini Drummers and Trumpeters company in the 1980s. This insight has allowed entire generations of musicians to develop under his expert guidance and teaching. The plaque will be unveiled in the former washhouse because it is there that every Tuesday the youngsters practice their drums and trumpets in preparation for Carnival and the various events to which they are invited.
