Oristano, a fishing boat sinks in the Torregrande port

A 9-meter fishing boat sank in the waters of the Torregrande marina, in Oristano. The report arrived on the evening of Tuesday, September 17, at the Operations Room of the Port Authority of Oristano. A land patrol intervened on site to verify the extent of the damage.
An initial inspection ruled out any traces of pollution. Coast Guard personnel warned the owner of the vessel, a local fisherman, to take action and avoid potential pollution.
After contacting a local company specializing in pollution control, the personnel positioned 24 meters of “floating booms” and two “absorbent booms” around the vessel, which was refloated and removed from the port waters the following morning. The Coast Guard confirmed the absence of any damage to the marine environment.
