The Court of Nuoro sentenced the Orani breeder Andrea Sedda to 10 years and six months accused, together with his brother Angelo, who was acquitted for not having committed the crime, of being the author of the attempted murder (it was March 2020) of fellow villager Salvatore Borrotzu.

The defendants were defended by Lorenzo Soro, Pasquale Ramazzotti and Gianfranco Careddu. Borrotzu, a civil party with Francesco Stara, in full lockdown escaped an ambush in the Nordule countryside.

Prosecutor Giorgio Bocciarelli had requested a 15-year sentence for Andrea and 12 years for his brother Angelo.

The rifle used in the failed ambush was found and seized on the Sedda estates, and Angelo negotiated a bargain for the possession of the weapons.

The investigation revealed that a car similar to that of Andrea Sedda was seen the day after stopping at the site of the ambush. There the carabinieri of Ottana, with the metal detector , found an exploded wad from the rifle seized from the Seddas .

No one, except the victim and the two farmers with whom he had taken refuge escaping the killer, knew of the ambush that day.
