On the island 19 fires in a few hours, 30 hectares in ashes in Siamaggiore
Helicopters also in action in Sindia, Uta, Villasor and in the countryside between Porto Torres and Sassari
August 15th with 19 fires that broke out in total in Sardinia. Five those who requested the intervention of the Forestry Corps aircraft.
In Siamaggiore, 30 hectares of land in the Tanca Floris Pinna area were burned to ashes. On the spot two helicopters from Fenosu, the Gauf of Oristano, a team of Forestas and the Fire Brigade.
A helicopter also took off in the countryside of Sindia, where the fire covered a hectare of orchard, thanks to the timely intervention of aircraft and ground crews which averted the worst, putting out the flames in about half an hour.
Helicopters are also in action in Uta and Villasor, while after 18.30 a Forestry vehicle departed from Bosa to put out a further fire that broke out in the locality of S'Eligheddu, on the border between the countryside of Porto Torres and Sassari.
