It embodies the history, economy and society of each citizen. But it is also an opportunity for the rural world of livestock to meet. In Ollastra everything is ready for the San Marco Fair , an opportunity to buy and sell the best livestock : around 250 animals on display for a total of 32 companies.

There will be several days full of events starting tomorrow, with a round table dedicated to agriculture and livestock: meeting in the council chamber at 10.30. On Tuesday, however, still in the Municipality but at 4.30 pm, we will talk about crafts. The next day, in the Municipality at 6pm, there will be a reflection on the links between tradition and religiosity.

The livestock show will instead be held, according to a centuries-old tradition, on April 25th . At nine o'clock the blessing of the historic fountain by Archbishop Roberto Carboni is scheduled, followed by the cutting of the ribbon.

«We have worked so that the market at the fair summarizes its central historical role - declares the mayor of Ollastra, Osvaldo Congiu - The animals on display have tripled and we are trying to accommodate the many requests to join. Breeding and agriculture, craftsmanship and typical products that accompany the ancient way of producing are the economic, social and identity foundation of our island. Working together to strengthen it, improve and better qualify production and sales, we believe it is a commitment from which no institution can exempt itself. This is the spirit that animated our choices for 2024."

The event is organized by the Municipality in collaboration with the Pro Loco, the Quadrifoglio association and the parish community.
