Olbia, van catches fire while on the move: driver safe

The Olbia Local Police personnel intervened in response to a fire that broke out in the afternoon in via Beato Angelico.

The driver of a van, while he was driving, noticed smoke starting to come out of the front of the vehicle .

Almost immediately flames came out of the engine and the van caught fire. The driver got out of the vehicle before it was engulfed in smoke and flames.

The officers, coordinated by Commander Giovanni Mannoni, provided first aid (the person who was driving the vehicle did not require treatment) and secured the area. The fire was put out immediately, the damage to the vehicle is extensive. The causes are being ascertained.
