A "prank" that cost several million euros, and now the false bomb alarm at the Costa Smeralda airport is a serious problem for a forty-year-old from Carbonia , the person who could be called to answer (not just criminally) for the damage suffered by Geasar ( manager of the Olbia airport), by various airlines and hundreds of passengers. According to investigations conducted by Polaria staff and the Carabinieri of Olbia and Carbonia, on Tuesday afternoon the man used his mobile phone to report to 112 the presence of a bomb under the AeroItalia aircraft departing for Milan .

The phone call was detailed, the person who called 112 indicated the arrival time of the flight from Linate and everything coincided perfectly with the airline's timetable. This imposed the protocol envisaged for the worst scenarios, with evacuation of the airport and blocking of all activities . Only late Tuesday evening, when the State Police bomb squad confirmed that there was no trace of bombs, did the airport start functioning again. However, by then the damage had already been done. The serious international situation (escalation of the Israel Hamas conflict) also imposed maximum attention and the evacuation protocol of the Costa Smeralda. Yesterday in France several airports were classified as sensitive targets.

The person responsible for the call was identified almost immediately , despite having used the phone in emergency mode. Apparently this is a person disoriented and influenced by recent news on the alert in European countries for potential jihadist attacks. The fact is that he is now under accusation for the crimes of causing an alarm and interrupting a public service . The investigations are conducted by the Cagliari Prosecutor's Office, an initial information was delivered to the prosecutors by the staff of Polaria di Olbia (coordinated by the manager Cristian Puddu).
