At anchor in front of the Balai lookout point in the Gulf of Asinara, the ship carrying a cargo of giant wind turbines awaits docking at the industrial port of Porto Torres. The word "Chinaland" appears on the hull of the cargo ship arriving from China.

The cargo is destined for Alas, the project of the German multinational RWE that will be built between Ittiri and Villanova Monteleone.

The Singapore-flagged cargo ship is 200 meters long and 33 meters wide, with a deadweight of 60,000 tons, and built in 2026. The Bardiania de Sa Nurra pro sa Sardinnia group, an association fighting against energy speculation, is following the route and intends to plan a demonstration at the industrial port in the coming days.

The plant consists of ten 6.6-megawatt wind turbines, generating a total of 66 megawatts. It is scheduled to begin operations in 2027 with ten 200-meter-tall wind turbines, eight in Ittiri and two in Villanova Monteleone.

Many onlookers lined the waterfront to watch the ship enter the port, accompanied by a tugboat.
