Olbia, runs over a dog on purpose and kills it: driver sentenced to 3 years

Very heavy sentence for the killing of a dog in Olbia: the judge of the Tempio Court Marcella Pinna has imposed three years in prison on a driver of Devizia, the company that collects waste in the Gallura city.

The man was held responsible for an episode that occurred three years ago within an agritourism company. According to prosecutor Gianmarco Vargiu , the driver would have deliberately caused the death of the animal during working hours, using a company vehicle that was used for waste collection.

The dog was hit in a yard. During the criminal hearings, the images from the video surveillance system of the Olbia farm were viewed; the frames documenting the accident, the prosecutor claimed, prove that the maneuver of the vehicle was not accidental, but deliberate.

This is a sentence with very few precedents for the extent of the sentence imposed.
