A man, clearly in a state of agitation, was arrested by the Olbia Carabinieri after causing panic in the city's historic center, near the train station.

The man entered a car stopped at an intersection on Via Vittorio Veneto, near the level crossing , surprising the elderly female driver, who, frightened, had managed to get away and call for help. Upon reaching the train station, the man continued to disturb those present and entered a construction site. When the Carabinieri arrived, he attempted to resist identification and armed himself with an iron bar, which he used to attack the officers.

He was safely subdued before he could injure anyone. The arrested man was taken to the Bancali prison in Sassari, where he will remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities pending a fast-track hearing.
