Disabled people and Olbiesi road hauliers over 60 must go to Sassari for a medical examination for the renewal of their license despite the decree of the regional presidency for the activation of the medical commission dating back two years ago. Diabetics, heart patients, dialysis patients, epileptics, transplant recipients, people with reduced vision, are forced to suffer serious discomfort.

“Five months have now passed since the filing of the motion that I presented so that the medical commission for the renewal of driving licenses was also reactivated in the city of Olbia . However, even today, the citizens of Olbia who must necessarily contact the local medical commissions (CML) are forced to go to Sassari or Nuoro to undergo a medical examination at the services of the local health companies that must assess their psycho-physical requirements. This is because in Gallura the commission in charge is still scandalously inoperative ”, says the head of the M5S group in the regional council Roberto Li Gioi .

On April 21, the pentastellato councilor presented a motion that commits the President of the Region and the councilor for health to take up with the utmost urgency "every useful initiative to give full operation to the Local Medical Commission established at the former ASL of Olbia", but two years after the adoption of the measure, the Medical Commission of the Olbia ASL "is stuck".

“It is unacceptable - concludes Li Gioi - that the citizens of Gallura should suffer such discomfort to undergo a medical examination required by law. Whoever is responsible has the duty to take urgent action to return an indispensable service to the city of Olbia and the Gallura area ".
