At first light, the search resumed for Giuseppe and Lorenzo Deiana, the two brothers from Olbia, aged 20 and 24, who have been missing since last Saturday in the waters of the Gulf of Olbia after going out for a sport fishing trip aboard their small four-metre fibreglass boat, a Molinari outboard.

Also in the water are echo sounders to scan the seabed at a depth of 50 metres.

The searches were concentrated in particular in the Capo Figari area, where in the hours following the disappearance a life jacket, some boots and a backpack with a fishing rod were found in the sea , which the boys' mother recognised as belonging to the two youths.

The personnel of the Olbia Coast Guard led by the second in command Paolo Bianca, who has been coordinating the operations for three days now, the Sapr Nucleus with drones from Nuoro and Cagliari and a helicopter from the Alghero Flight Department are engaged in the search operations. Also in the field is a rov (a pressure-resistant underwater vehicle), a high-precision sonar scanner made available by a private individual.

The Coast Guard's vehicles and men interrupted the search only during the night hours, and then resumed without stopping throughout the entire stretch of sea off the coast from Olbia to Golfo Aranci.

A long stretch of sea that rescuers are searching inch by inch, also helped by numerous citizens and volunteers who have responded to the appeal of the mother of the two young people, Simona Deiana, launched on social media. The words of the woman were joined by the appeal of Lorenzo Deiana's girlfriend, Francesca, who entrusted a heartfelt message to Facebook. "Please, even if you don't know us, put yourself in our shoes and search for them continuously," wrote Lorenzo's partner, with whom the 24-year-old has a son. Meanwhile, as the hours pass , the anguish and concern for the fate of the two brothers grows, whose last signal, that of one of the cell phones, dates back to the afternoon of Saturday 19 April , when a telephone cell placed him in a stretch of sea near the beach of Nodu Pianu, where there are some shoals.

Today the search has restarted right from here and will move to the island of Tavolara, where the seabed reaches depths of over one hundred metres.
