Olbia, fire at the city gates: flames near the airport

There were moments of apprehension last night at the southern entrance to the city, where a vegetation fire broke out near the “Costa Smeralda” airport.

The flames, which broke out shortly after midnight, required the intervention of the Olbia firefighters, supported by units from the airport detachment and a team from Arzachena.

Thanks to the rapidity of the operations, the fire was contained and extinguished before it could spread towards the airport area or threaten the State Road 125.

The Carabinieri also responded to the scene to conduct surveys and secure the area . Fortunately, no one was injured or any structures were damaged. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
