Fight against malamovida in Olbia. Mayor Settimo Nizzi signed a new ordinance with the aim of "protecting the safety and public peace of the city".

The measure will come into force on March 1st and provides for the closure of all neighborhood food shops from 8pm to 7am, including those selling food and non-food products, so-called mixed, and vending machines located in certain areas.

«We have found on several occasions the presence of groups of "unsavory" people in the streets of the historic center, who consume alcoholic drinks after having purchased them in shops that stay open until late at night, if not until the morning - explains the mayor - . These people are frequently responsible for illicit conduct, perpetrated under the influence of alcohol, creating risks for urban safety, causing disturbance of public peace and serious inconvenience to residents, as well as causing damage to the environment and furnishings. urban and historical-architectural heritage of the city. For this reason we have ordered that in these areas of the city, all neighborhood businesses must remain closed at night."

Ordinance number 11 therefore establishes the closure in specific areas:

Corso Umberto, taken from the intersection with Viale Principe Umberto to the intersection with Via Regina Elena;

Piazza Regina Margherita;

via Regina Elena, up to piazza Crispi;

Corso Umberto, taken from the intersection with Via Mameli to the intersection with Via Sassari;

via Sassari;

via Acquedotto, up to the intersection with via Mameli;

Piazza Matteotti;

Piazza Mercato and surrounding streets, precisely via Dettori and via Bari;

via Vittorio Veneto, taken from the intersection with via Mameli to the intersection with via Rio Gadduresu;

via San Simplicio;

via Brigata Sassari up to and including Piazza Brigata Sassari;

via 4 November.
