Specialists from all over Europe to discuss the new frontiers of interventional radiology : Mater Olbia Hospital hosted today the first stage of the international training course (with solid Italian foundations) Oncologic muskuloskeletal advanced international radiology, a traveling event to delve into technical innovations, for less invasive and more targeted interventions, in the treatment of musculoskeletal tumors and to promote a multidisciplinary approach, aimed at preserving the quality of life of patients affected by these complex pathologies.
The first edition of the course, which will also be held at the Campus Biomedico in Rome and at the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, starts from the Mater, a cutting-edge center equipped with the skills and technologies necessary to apply and develop new therapeutic options and boasts the scientific direction of the head of the Radiology and Radiodiagnostics Service of the Mater, Pierluigi Rinaldi, and of the specialist in Oncological Interventional Radiology at the Olbia facility, Claudio Pusceddu.
The initiative will be followed by the publication of a scientific volume edited by the latter and by his colleague from the Spanish hospital, Salvatore Marsico, which will contain a critical review of the literature in this field and will collect experiences and clinical data from the main European centers to increase the validity and generalizability of the results.
