«I asked for the Minister of the Interior to be summoned to the commission to discuss important issues of public order and the number of posts allocated to local police bodies as well as the number of Carabinieri stations».

This was announced by the Sardinian deputy of the League Dario Giagoni , after the bomb exploded in front of the Municipality of Ottana and after the umpteenth arson attacks carried out in Olbia , where last night three cars were set on fire , bringing the number of arson fires to at least 16 which led to the destruction of as many cars from the beginning of 2024.

Giagoni, speaking at the meeting of the Presidential Office for the organization of the work of the Insularity Commission, requested an "urgent intervention" from the Interior Ministry .

«Our island - states Giagoni - has always been characterized by an exponential increase in the population during the summer months and has recently also been the victim of very serious acts against quite a few local administrators and of persistent acts of vandalism and arson , as in the case of Olbia, to the detriment of private citizens. Delinquent actions that cannot be ignored . Following general data and trends, we should work to implement services and the number of police forces ."

«This – adds the Northern League MP – is what I intend to ask the Minister of the Interior and this is the reason why I requested his intervention within the Commission which analyzes and seeks solutions for all those disadvantages resulting from insularity. I believe that the guarantee of order, security and services for the citizen absolutely fall among these."
