Ogliastra land of centenarians: Grandma Gioachina turns 100 in Lotzorai

Gioachina Cabras turned 100 years old . Granny unites two communities: a native of Talana , she has taken root in Lotzorai since 1981 . Today the mayors of the two centres, Christian Loddo and Cesare Mannini, visited her.

The administrators, wearing a tricolor sash, crossed the threshold of the house in via Rossini where their grandmother welcomed them with enthusiasm and fervor . Her husband, Domenico Serra, who disappeared for some time, also joined the centenarian club in February 2021. Gioachina Cabras had 4 children, has about ten grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ogliastra confirms itself as a land of centenarians. Just yesterday in Villagrande , the town that holds the world record for male longevity, Mario Firinu turned 103 .
