«Arnas Brotzu overtaxes nurses' overtime work».
Nursing Up reports it: the Company, according to the union leader Marino Vargiu, has not applied the expected reduced tax rate of 5% on compensation for overtime work, introduced by art. 1, paragraph 354 of Law 207/2024, in force from 1 January 2025.
"This measure was designed to enhance the extraordinary commitment of healthcare workers - explains Vargiu - who for years have been making up for the chronic shortage of personnel, ensuring continuity of care in the departments with sacrifice and a sense of responsibility. Yet, we find ourselves faced with yet another omission that penalizes workers economically, demonstrating a worrying lack of attention both to the current regulatory framework and to the professional dignity of the nurses involved ."
Resolution no. 7/E of the Revenue Agency, published on January 31, 2025, continues Vargiu, «has provided unequivocal clarifications on the application of the tax relief for extraordinary services of healthcare personnel, also indicating the tax codes to be used . Despite this, several nurses have reported to us the application of the ordinary IRPEF rate, instead of the flat tax at 5%».
Hence the request for " an immediate adjustment of the pay slips and the reimbursement of the sums withheld in excess, forwarding a formal communication to the General Management of the Company. Nursing Up reports that this lack, in addition to causing direct economic damage, represents yet another proof of lack of attention towards staff already subjected to heavy workloads, constantly called upon to guarantee additional shifts to make up for the structural shortage of staff . The union has ordered the Company to provide for the application of the rule and the regularization of the dues within 15 days. Failing this, we will proceed with union and legal actions to protect the workers, with reporting to the relevant bodies, no one excluded. In the meantime, our Union Leaders are carrying out specific checks at all the SSR Companies to ensure that this right of Sardinian nurses is fully respected everywhere ".
