Massacre at dawn in via Ichnusa in Nuoro. Forestry worker Roberto Gleboni, 52, shot his family, then continued with a neighbor, in the same building, and with his elderly mother, in via Gonario Pinna.

Three victims have been confirmed so far, including the killer who took his own life. But the toll could be set to get worse.

Gleboni, perhaps following an argument, first killed his wife Maria Giuseppina Massetti, known as Giusi, 43 years old, hitting her in the head. Then he went into the room of his three children, fatally wounding the eldest, Martina, 25 years old. The youngest, only 10 years old, is hospitalized at the end of his life at San Francesco in Nuoro: the declaration of brain death was denied after a few hours.

The man's other son, aged 14, was also hit by bullets: his life is not in danger.

Leaving the house, still with the gun in his hand, the fifty-two-year-old ran into his neighbor, Paolo Sanna, 69, who had gone out to restart the meter that had blown due to the storm: he also fired shots at him. The sixty-nine-year-old is in intensive care at the hospital in Nuoro.

The killer acted while the family members were sleeping: he entered the rooms and opened fire.

Gleboni then left the building on Via Ichnusa and, on board a Punto, went to the house of his mother Maria Esterina Riccardi, on Via Gonario Pinna, seriously wounding her as well with gunshots.

Then the police and carabinieri arrived: the man was dead, he had committed suicide after turning the gun on himself. The gun, a semi-automatic, was legally held: it was found next to the body.

The men of the provincial command of the Carabinieri and the Nuoro Police Headquarters are reconstructing the dynamics of the incident.
The two streets where the massacre occurred were sealed off by the police. The magistrate on duty and the coroner were also on site.

The motive for this terrible trail of blood is still unclear. According to a note from the Prosecutor's Office, there have been no previous reports or complaints of domestic violence.

Degree dedicated to the father

Martina had a degree in Law. She had dedicated her degree to her mother and father, for whom she wrote: "To the greatest love of my life."

The neighbor

"Roberto? A kind and helpful person": this is how the neighbor, Armando Lodi, describes the perpetrator of the massacre who took his own life after shooting his wife and children and also firing a gunshot at a neighbor, before doing the same to his mother, in another home.
