A violent fire hit the Badu'e Carros area of Nuoro today, near Via Murichessa and Su Pinu, putting residents on alert.

The flames broke out near the surrounding homes , requiring immediate intervention by the operational teams.

Around 3:30 PM, the first reports alerted the Forestry Corps and the Fire Brigade , who promptly rushed to the scene of the fire. At the same time, a firefighting helicopter took off to provide air support for the extinguishing operations.

There were moments of apprehension also because the wind was pushing the fire towards the prison complex.

The prompt intervention of several rescue teams (and also of some residents who took action to put out the flames – VIDEO ) then avoided the worst.

The fire was eventually extinguished. Mayor Emiliano Fenu was also on site to assess the damage, which fortunately appears to be limited.
