Nuoro, Capelli accused of defamation: Zoffili testifies as injured party

Commenting on a news item (the former president of the Senate of the League Roberto Calderoli apologized to the Sardinians for the peak in Coronavirus infections at the end of August 2020, due to tourists who arrived on the island even with fever), the former parliamentarian and former regional councilor Roberto Capelli had let himself go with a harsh social comment, speaking of Calderoli's loyalty, but adding to the comment «a very different thing compared to his boss and that cerebral mononuclear patient they sent to be the proconsul in Sardinia».

Capelli had apologized for the excessive tone. Words in which the then regional coordinator of the League, Eugenio Zoffili, recognized himself, who sued Capelli, and yesterday (civil party with the lawyer Stefano Stochino) appeared in the Court of Nuoro in the defamation trial. "I don't know Capelli - said Zoffili - but those words from a parliamentary colleague deeply offended me".

Responding to the lawyer Annamaria Busia, Capelli's defender, he added: «I don't remember if I made any particular statements at the time, in that period in the Senate the Lega group had also inserted the symbol of the Psd'Az, because it hosted the ally Christian Solinas».
