The installation “Accessibility Itineraries” makes the intentions clear. It spreads inclusiveness, from the first glance: it will adorn the halls of the Ten theater in Nuoro, in via Roma, until March 15.
"We pay special attention to people with disabilities by activating numerous protection and accessibility strategies, both as audiences and as artistic producers - says Marco Moledda, coordinator of Ten for Sardegna Teatro -. In 2023 we were partners of the Compagnia Berardi Casolari in the project LidOdissea. Well, the path has become a show accessible to the blind public, through a live audio description. It will be on the Ten stage on March 6 at 8:30 pm.
Inclusivity
Cultural venues unite and lead by example. From February 28th until mid-March, the Eliseo Theater in Nuoro will become a space for reflection on the accessibility of cultural content for people with disabilities . Thus, the rooms of the so-called Ten Gallery change script and perspectives. Here is a multimedia installation that brings together projects and virtuous practices, with contributions from Sardegna Teatro, the Italian Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted (Nuoro section), the Nuorese Cultural District, and the Giorgio Asproni National Archaeological Museum. A few days ago, the novelty was inaugurated and revealed to the first visitors.
"Our "museum table" is made up of 40 cultural sites," explains Mario Paffi, coordinator of the Nuorese Cultural District . "For us, it is truly fundamental to invest in accessibility. We are talking about an essential right: making all cultural sites extremely accessible. We believe that this could also be an opportunity, first of all to broaden the audience. Then, to make culture accessible to everyone."
Paffi continues: «We want to implement 3D model reproductions, as well as prints, of the objects and artifacts present in our cultural sites».
Agostino Cicalò, president of the Nuoro Cultural District, confirms: «With the “Museo tattile diffusa” project, developed in collaboration with Make in Nuoro and Pid Nuoro, 14 3D reproductions of particularly important cultural objects were created, with the aim of connecting our places of culture».
The show
On March 6, the stage will be all for LidOdissea. In the background, the mythological journey, soon transformed into an interior journey to discover the limits, difficulties and paradoxes of contemporary society. "I was not born blind, but if I had not lost my sight I would never have become an actor", says Gianfranco Berardi, author of the show together with Gabriella Casolari. "The interior world becomes the mirror of the surrounding world".
Antonio Cosseddu, director of the Archaeological Museum, concludes: «The visitor is not an empty container . The Sardinian archaeological heritage is the property of the people who have always lived alongside it. Therefore, a story that excludes their voice is unthinkable."
