Interventions on the water network in the municipalities of Nuoro and San Teodoro .

Egas, the government body of the Sardinia area, has given the green light to the projects for the rehabilitation of the water network of the two centers for a total amount of approximately 912 thousand euros.

The works will be financed by EGAS under the FSC 2014-2020 Development and Cohesion Fund.

The most conspicuous intervention, equal to over 672 thousand euros, will concern the water network of the municipality of Nuoro, affected by a dispersion of around 53% due to pipes in a precarious state of conservation and no longer suitable for guaranteeing regular transport. water.

Over the years, Abbanoa has launched a campaign to replace pipes subject to frequent breakage which has seen the disposal of numerous sections of pipeline in plastic or fiber cement in favor of ductile iron pipes.

With the latter material, the 450 meters of new pipes and 112 connections will be made in Piazza Crispi, Piazza Dante, Piazza Dell'Ulivo, Via Carducci, Via Efisio Tola, Via Farina, Via Ferracciu, Via Gattu, Via Monsignor Bua, Via Salaris , Via Papandrea and Via Sulis.

In San Teodoro, on the other hand, approximately 260 meters of steel or asbestos cement pipelines will be replaced with ductile iron pipes, in addition to the construction of 24 connections . The streets affected by the intervention, which involves a total cost of 240 thousand euros, will be Via Flumendosa and Via Ciusa.

“Nuoro and San Teodoro - said the president of Egas Fabio Albieri - are part of a larger water redevelopment project that also includes the territories of Budoni, Galtellì, Irgoli, Oliena, Orosei and Siniscola. We are gradually working so that in this vast territorial area of the island we can put a stop to dispersion and improve the water service to citizens ”.
