New act of intimidation against local administrators in Sardinia.

During the night, the car of the mayor of Nule and secretary of Coldiretti in Goceano, Giuseppe Mellino, was set on fire.

The alarm went off around midnight, when unknown persons doused the mayor's Audi A4, which was parked in via Cagliari, with flammable liquid and set the spark that started the fire.

The firefighters , who arrived with a team from Bono, put out the fire. The Carabinieri of the Bono Company also intervened on site and started investigations: there is no doubt about the malicious nature of the fire.

"I didn't expect it at all," comments Mellino, who is entering the last year of his second consecutive mandate at the helm of the Municipality. «I have never had any problems of any kind with anyone, neither myself nor my family. I don't understand this gesture. Luckily no one got hurt. I am especially sorry for the town, this gesture undermines the serene climate that has long been felt in our community", concludes the mayor.
