The Nobento company, specialized in the production of fixtures, " seems to have a double life ". The complaint comes from the CGIL: «on the one hand there is the public one , with an almost exasperating presence in the press and the media, where announcements of great results have followed one another over time. Yet, on the other hand, the more "private" and internal one, the company has pursued an all-encompassing attitude towards its employees, putting into practice the most complete refusal in comparison with the workers, with their representatives and with the FIOM CGIL, ignoring the alarm signals that many voices came from the workers and from our trade union organization".

The attitude towards social isolation «does not go well – the trade unions continue – with the perceived image of a model company conveyed in recent years, above all if it becomes a working center for over 350 workers, with strong responsibilities towards the local area, which today, due to questionable corporate conduct, sees the specter of an industrial dismantling with enormous social repercussions on the territory. The first request for extraordinary layoffs , formally advanced by Nobento on 1 August 2023, was rejected by the Ministry of Labor precisely because of the company's inability to carry on a confrontation with the social partners, but not only. The request for extraordinary layoffs for 12 months at 80% for all Nobento personnel, brought as reasons for the company crisis the change to the 110% bonus, with the explicit declaration that in case of non-approval of the same layoffs by the Ministry, the only solution would have been collective redundancies".

The declarations, dated 1 August 2023, also at the ministerial table "marked strong points of inconsistency with hiring made up to May, June and July 2023, hiring made when, in all probability, the company was widely aware of the company's state of crisis and of the spectrum of layoffs and layoffs. The mobilization process promoted by FIOM CGIL that followed saw the company distinguish itself by generating conflict between the workers themselves and with the workers' representatives, generating obstacles even in the face of the simple prerogative of workers to meet in assembly, up to, in the last few days to the dismissal of the workers' representative and trade union delegate".

«Today, 28 August, at the table with the Ministry of Labour, the company confirmed its usual attitude, on the one hand it declares its willingness to dialogue and debate, in fact never practiced, on the other it communicates that the CIGS will be required starting from the end of September, no longer for 12 months but rather for 24 and that, in order to meet the requirements for the concession of the same, the restructuring of the production lines will concern not only lines 1 and 2 but also line 3 and 4, also specifying that there are no possibilities to identify other management tools. The meeting has been adjourned to next 4 September. We are facing a real social and labor storm that is breaking down in an area that has never seen a company reach over 300 employees in such a short time, and which has never known the impact of an extraordinary redundancy fund which seems destined to turn into a definitive crisis and therefore without the possibility of recovery to the detriment of the entire territory and over 300 families», concludes the union.
